You Can Win Awards For Procrastinating? Groovy!!!!!!

Theoretically, I am working on the photos on my computer right now. There are currently (Groovy pauses to double check her numbers) 3, 712 photos and 150 home videos on my poor, lame, tired, overloaded hard drive. I am supposed to be organzing them, sending some off to be printed for GrammaJ and the folks and ourselves and moving them off the 'puter and onto cds where they can live happily without making Mr. iMac whine.

That's what I am supposed to be doing right now. Yep.

Of course, the task is made oh so complicated by the fact that both my girlies have their own cameras. Cameras which they use OFTEN and PROFUSELY. And we all share a computer. So I have to sift through all their photos too. Lucky me.

Back on this post, many of you commented on what wonderful photographers my 8 and 10 year-olds are. What you didn't know what that I hand pick the few great pics they took out of 500 (FIVE HUNDRED!!!!) on our little Boston trip.

Aren't those special? I have a bazillions of pics like that to go through before my project is complete. Worse, it took me TWO DAYS to post those few photos on this blog post because Blogger changed all my editing options. So everytime I upload pics, they'll upload, but only one or two of them actually show up on my blog. So I have to quit and do something else - ya know, like stare at my Facebook home page or play a stupid computer game - then come back and try again. Needless to say, I have not achieved my lofty photo goals yet.

Thus runs the theme of my life: Start a project, get distracted (or thwarted by technical glitches), start more projects, juggle them all in the air, scrub a toilet, drop several of them (projects, not toilets), eat chocolate, start over.

That is totally why I sat for several weeks one day and composed this way-too-fun Squidoo lens. Because the word Procrastination (along with Groovy, of course - and let's not forget Mediocre) pretty much embodies my approach to life.

And for this, I have been the much coveted Squidoo purple star of Groovydom. :-)

Now, I need to get out to those Podunk, Maine stores and score some Groovy deals on writing supplies for the awesome (potentially) basket I am giving next Saturday, April 30 for my BLOGMANIA Post. I know you'll be shocked, but I actually DID go shopping. I snagged some totally groovy items to giveaway on the 30th!!!! In fact they are SO groovy that I may enter to win my own giveaway! (OK, maybe not - um, about me entering, not about the prizes being groovy.) Photos shall be posted on Monday (unless I get, ya know, distracted or something).

Consolidation and Fire (not here!) and Linky Difficulties

I have been making wondrous use of my time and have consolidated all of the public blogs I regularly visit into one vastly incredible -and not the least bit mediocre - list. I decided to do so on a Squidoo lens because it's easy to load RSS feeds there. That way I can scan down and say "Ooooo, Tubby Bear has helped quenched the fires in Oz." or "Oh my, Busy Mom is...busy!" And I can share the list with all my (that would be 3) Squid fans.

Then I had a brilliant idea. Instead of keeping everyone listed there AND in the sidebar of my blog, I'd just put a sidebar link to my Squidoo lens and call it good. Except I can't. Either Blogger is being gooby OR I deserately need to reinstall my browser because, folks...Safari and Blogger? They ain't liking each other again.

*sigh*

Well, if you want to see who I try to visit regularly (the key word there is "try") you can visit my Squidoo Lens via this post as opposed to clicking all those linkies in my sidebar. Some of those links are defunct and some of those blogs I don't frequent quite as much anymore (no offense to their authors!). Hopefully I'll have things all cleaned up in a matter of years, months, weeks days.

Money! I Made MONEY!

Merciful Heavens.

I went to my Squidoo Lensmaster Page to just see how my lenses were doing and I made money.

No, no, no...you don't understand; I MADE MONEY!

I made more money in this one month than I've made in a year and a half.

Ok, ok. It's still not enough to, you know, buy a goat or anything. But it IS enough to buy a nice meal out, or get a Christmas gift for a friend, or mail a whole slew of letters, or get my hair cut.

And all for virtually NO work.

A Weary Week

Well, well, well. It's seems I've won the Blarney contest for THIS LINK and now sweet Kathleen is mailing me a prize. Whoo-hoo!

So why haven't I written much this past week? Hmmmm, here's a brief synopsis:

We took Grampy to the hospital in the middle of the night last...um...Friday night. He had pneumonia with a fever and was confused. He's much better now and home again.

The girlies and I went to 4-H where the kids ran around with the kids and I spent 2+ hours running back and forth through calf deep mud hauling goat babies to and from the barn to be disbudded, tatooed, castrated, and innoculated against tetanus. When we were through I was covered with mud, blood, green tatoo dye, and yellow disinfectant. It was wonderfully fun (yes, I AM serious!), but I was exhausted afterwards.

I've been researching Thumbsucking and building a Squidoo Lens on the topic. It's not finished yet because I'm having some technical difficulties with YouTube (and because I keep getting distracted!).

I've been rehearsing for a skit that I was supposed to be doing today at a women's conference in Bangor. However, the conference was postponed until May because of this icky, icy storm that started last night and is still going full force.

This is especially sad, because yesterday we located the perfect extra actor for our skit. His name is Steven and we get to keep him. You might say that he's the new head of our home:



Last night, Mulletman spent the night in Bangor so he wouldn't have to drive to work in the storm this morning. He didn't want me to be lonely so...

Naturally I had school with the girlies. We did all the usual studies plus we also made these handy-dandy Spring noteholders. Truly March HAS come in like a Lion, but only time will tell if it goes out like a Lamb. After we made them Girly-Girl said, "These remind me of Jesus because He is brave and powerful like a lion, but He is gentle and snuggly like a lamb!"

On Wednesday we spent the entire day in Bangor at the Children's Discovery Museum. Then we went out to supper at Bugaboo Creek Steak House. Many thanks to my mom for supplying us with the funds for this fun outing! Unfortunately, I forgot the camera!

What else?

Well, I got 2 writing job offers. One I was quite excited about, but it hasn't yet panned out. The other was for a slimeball who wanted me to write manipulative sales copy for his website. His product? An ebook that will teach you how to sidestep research and "steal" other writer's work to tweak and publish as your own. I sent him a scathing, but professional reply; Something along the lines of, "NO WAY, YOU DIRTBALL!"

I also managed to get some housework done somewhere during the week AND I managed to check in on everyone else's blogs.

I spent alot of time looking up Scriptures to use in a counseling situation.

Oh yeah, and my period started. (Oh joy.)

And I just spent 2+ hours clearing the driveway so that Mulletman can actually get into the driveway when he comes home tonight.
