And Then He Stared...

Mulletman came home from work around 8:30 last night. By then I was used to the new coif and had forgotten about it. He was being attacked by his happy girlies ("DADDY!!!!!!" hug, hug, hug, kiss, kiss, kiss) when he glanced my way.

And then he stared.

I was putzing around doing end of the day clean-up. The girls and I had made goat milk fudge - we made it the old fashioned way (no stinkin' marshmallow cream for us!) and it came out perfectly. We'd also started some goatmilk yogurt. At any rate, there were a few dishes calling my name and I was tending to them.

And he stared some more.

He stared so hard that I could FEEL his eyes burrowing into my being. I suddenly remembered the hair. I spun to face him and my hair flounced and bounced as I beamed at him.

"Do you like it?" I twirled around so he could get the full effect. He stared another moment and then stuttered, "It's...it's...it's...SHORT!"

"Yes it is!" I shot back cheerfully, "What do you think?"

"Um...lemme get used to it and then I'll let you know."

Mulletman craves change, but he never likes it when he gets it! Later in the evening he assured me that it "wasn't too bad", so I feel pretty sure he'll adore it this weekend. :-D

Today the girls and I will be making goat cheese. If I have milk left over, we might even make soap!

We're also picking strawberries and making jam and packing for 4-H camp this weekend and making Rice Crispy bars to sell at camp and maybe even doing a little math and reading.

We're also semi packing for vacation on Monday where we will get to GO SEE FUNSOCKSGIRL AND THE J-MAN!!!!

LOL... my DH did the same thing when I got my hair chopped. Goat's milk (especially from Nubian goats) makes tremendous butter, too. Also, you can CAN goats milk. We used to do that with the milk from our goat, and then my SIL would pick it up once a month for her son who couldn't drink cow's milk.

I loved my goat. Milking IS tough, though.

BTW, I looked at your Twitter, and we could be twins in the size dept. Congrats on your 4 lbs gone missing *G*

But did he like the bamboo shoots? I thought they were a particularly creative touch.

I've tried goats milk and it does take some getting used to, but I LOVE goatsmilk yoghurt. Oh. My. YUMMMMMMM!
