Nervous Chatter

T-2 Days to NaNoWriMo.

***********************************

I woke up this morning to an atmosphere that was sadly bereft of the scent of fresh brewed coffee. The pot was full, but the machine was off and I found this note lying next to it on the counter:

Apparently part of the filter squashed down and the grounds flowed over and into the coffee. I was able to salvage most of the brew by refiltering through my sieve and a fresh coffee filter. Then I microwaved it.

I just couldn't toss out that Tim Horton's, could I? :-)

***********************************

A couple of days ago I went upstairs to our music room (1 digital piano, 1 drum set, 1 stereo, 3 guitars, 1 bass, 2 amps, 2 recorders, lots of little percussiony things, 2 music stands and 2 stools) to (duh) practice some music. This is what I found on the piano; You'll have to double click to enlarge it so you can actually read the words at the top:

***********************************

We ARE going to the Newsboys concert Saturday after the women's conference with Cherie Adams (who I am SINGING WITH - sorta - in case you didn't remember). This is one of those extremely rare years when I am THANKFUL for the time change. I have to be at church at 7am the morning after the concert...

***********************************

It's really hard watching my Mom get old...

***********************************

We haven't heard from Scout since he started active duty in Texas. Has the Army locked him in a cleaning closet?

***********************************

Pea's faerie garden will FINALLY make its appearance in my NaNoWriMo novel...if my prose ends up being even remotely readable I will post that chapter in December.

***********************************

Is it Thursday YET? Mulletman has a coule of appointments that day, so even though he's off work, I may be able to eke out a starting chapter.

***********************************

Missions for today:

-Contact Kodak about my wonky flash.

-Contact Apple about some files on my desktop that WON'T GO AWAY!

-Teach school. We have a fun new U.S. Map puzzle!

-Visit Carlyo and play with the horses, dogs, and cats that are currently in her care. This is strictly as a favor to her. Someone has to come play with those dogs so they don't drive her bonkers, and it is extremely important to keep the horses socialized. Of course, it's always fun to yak with Carla too, but that's entirely beside the point.

************************************
I am Elinor Dashwood!

EDIT

Groovy is NOT happy. Kodak wants to charge $125 to fix the flash on a $199 camera that is less than 2 years old.

GRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrr!

Hey Groovy, here's the link to my NaNo profile (so you can add me as a buddy). If you'll send me yours, I'll add you right back. It's the URL when you hit your own "view profile".

I don't blame you for being unhappy! That is a totally ripoff.

The Teaching Little Fingers to Play book behind the notes brought back such memories - so glad it's still bright red!

Hey, I am so glad you've begun the No. 1 Detective books - they are so wonderful. Go back to the beginning, though, and read them chronologically. I just finished #8 and hope he gets another one out soon. One of the profs I work with sent me home with two more of his books from a different series. I'll keep you posted.

Oh good heavens, I'm SO glad you saved the Tim Horton's coffee!!! lol Hmmm...Jingle Bells and Twinkle Little Star...just hope she can read the rest of her writing! hehe Too cute! Heyyyy how did me and my faerie garden get involved in NaNoWriMo...ROFL I'm so looking forward to that! Isn't it ridiculous what they charge for repairs...cheaper to just go buy a new one! But I'd be pretty grrrrr too being that it's only 2 years old! xox

Just stopping in for my dose of Groovy updates...:)
(And yes, I second that notion that it's hard to watch your mom get old.) :(
I hope you hear from Scout very soon!

I am also Elinor Dashwood but I so wanted to be Lizzie Bennett. Oh well. I agree , it is hard to watch your parents age. I am finding it hard to cope with it myself.

Love the sheet music!

Those are some pretty funny notes that you've been getting lately!

The notes are adorable on the piano.

Kodak is being inhospitable. I think you need to talk to a manager there. Or just let them have it back. It is worthless to you as a car without headlights.

I, too, am Elinor Dashwood; but in my youth, I suspect I was more of a Marianne type. Is this what growing old does to all of us?

Hope that coffee maker is repaired. With NaNo around the corner, you're going to need it!

Oh my! The song titles and lyrics were my fave part of this post! So endearing!

Sorry about your flash, yikes 125.00 big ones huh? So what's the decision? and I'm assuming that up there in Maine, y'all use the word "wonky" for broken?? Just a wild guess.
