"And you LOOK it!"

Our lead news story for today:

Last night I made some totally incredible chicken alfredo.

The girls hated it.

This discouraged me until I realized that it meant MORE FOR ME!!!

The Barn Dance Dig

Our fam went to a fabulous Barn Dance Sunday evening at Maggiedoodlebug's house (well, actually, at her barn, not her house!). There were many friends there from our church, homeschooling buds from other churches and one special family that had moved away for a few years, but now had returned - Roy, Lilly and little Chad.

I sat down beside Chad and we chatted for a while. He didn't remember me even though I had babysat him. He was mortified to realize that I had, yes, seen him in diapers.

Oh the shame!

Later, I was chatting with a teen girl and Chad approached us. The young woman had also taken care of him when he was a tot. He had vague memories of her and we all three conversed for a few moments. Suddenly he puffed up his chest, held his head high and blurted, "Well, I was little then, but now I'm SIX!"

"And I'M 43!" I shot back.

Chad stepped back and squinted at me a moment. Then he nodded and quipped, "And you LOOK it, too!"

ouch.

Did my comment get lost, or is it waiting for approval? What I said was, did you see what Care Bear said about me when I said I used to watch Leave it to Beaver when I was little??

It got lost and now it's floating forever in the Internetherworld, only to show up in someone's birthday email 10 months form now.

Hey Groovy...

Sorry about the weirdness at the blog re: the Win A Tote Bag Full o' Books -- the correct link is here. It gives you all the info you needed.

My bad :-(

And, you are, indeed a busy little bee!

Groovy, how do you make chicken alfredo? Is it tomato-based? I am always on the lookout for new dishes.
Don't you just love the honesty of children? I asked my five year old nephew how old he thought I was the other day and he said "about a hundred" (I'm 42.)
Looks like it's botox injections for me. LOL.

I'm just giggling...forget the chicken alfredo, I'm still picturing that whole conversation with the kids. So now I know your age...and pooh, I'm just a tad older than you...a year or few months or something like that...(I vote for a few months...)
And I probably look it, too! ;)
