Hi! Oh I'm so glad you made it. I wasn't really sure if anyone would come in this Maine snowstorm!
Here, Kick your boots off into the mudroom and let the girlies take your coat for you. Would like a drink? I've got some filtered water, wonderful coffee and a variety of teas; Take your pick!
Um, yes...It is rather dark in here, isn't it. I thought the candles would set an intimate and relaxing tone for our get together. (Translation: I've been sick all week, so the house is dirty and I don't want you to see the dust!)
You'd like a tour of the house? Oh. Ok....
This is is my monstrously huge kitchen/dining area. It is my biggest blessing because it is so roomy and party friendly. I have had as many as 30 people in here at one time. It is my biggest bane because all that space has to be cleaned!
Next we have the living-room-of-difficult-furniture-placement. Anyone who designs a room with 4 doorways and a hall and staircase in it needs to get a new job! What? Oh, no. We don't have a TV. If we want to watch an occasional (VERY occasional) movie, we pop a DVD into the computer in the dining area.
On the far side of the living room you'll find the girlies' room on the right. Fortunately, it's not too messy. The room was meant to be a den, so there's no closet, but we were able to find them a pretty wardrobe to make up for it. There are bedrooms upstairs, but we started the girls out down here when they were babes (their older siblings were upstairs) and now we just really like having them down here with us.
On the left is our room. It looks stupid with the air mattresses on the floor, but we still haven't gone bed shopping. Besides, they're so comfy! We have our own teeny bathroom here with the midget shower. The stall is normal sized, but the shower fixture was installed at 5'6" above the floor. Mulletman, who is 6'2" rarely uses THIS shower!
Now we go back out through the living room and take a right. This is the blue phrog bathroom. It has 70's vintage blue fixtures, a double sink and dozens of blue phrogs everywhere. I even have blue phrog shower curtain rings!!
Ok, Out the bathroom door, if we take a right and go through this door we'll end up in the folks' apartment. I think they're busy staring at the weather channel right now and placing bets on whether or not the power is going to go out, so we'll let them be. I'll take some food over to them later.
Instead, let's head up the stairs. Now that Funsocksgirl and Bonehead have grown up and moved out, this whole space is basically fluff. Hang a left here at the top and you'll come into what used to be a GIGANTIC closet. It is now our "library" (Translation: I keep all our lit books and Bible study books and extra schoolbooks up here because Mulletman hates fiction and because he thinks paperbacks are ugly.). It is also home to the 200 pound salvage desk where I file our important papers and do my scrapbooking. Mulletman got that desk out of the trash at the hospital where he works and we painted it. It's so big and heavy...I can't remember for the life of me how he got it home!
See that awesome brown swivel rocker? I love that chair! It's so comfy and secluded up here. It's my sneak-away-to-pray-or-be-alone-chair.
Ok, next room. This very large bedroom is our music room. It is home to 3 guitars, a wonderful digital piano, 1 bass guitar, a plethora of hand-held percussion intruments, a gorgeous drum-set, several amps and a stereo. Hey! Don't touch that!
Ahem...Let's move on the last room. This used to be Bonehead's room; Now it's the guestroom and my sewing space. It's small, but architecturally interesting, don't you agree? We keep several Christian biographies and devotionals books in here for our guests to enjoy when they're visiting. From the looks of that snowfall out there, you may be coming back to this room to camp for a while!
In fact, why don't you just plan on staying overnight. Heck, why don't you just stay all week and we'll party together like they used to do in the Bible. I mean what's up with Americans and their boring 2 hour parties, anyway? In the Bible they had week-long celebrations. I've got plenty of virtual food and beds and fun ideas.
So let's give it a try, shall we?

We're having a snowstorm ourselves in Minnesota....snowbound today under 20 inches of beautiful snow. Perfect day to do a little blog-party-hopping!

Visiting for the party. Nice to meet you! Thanks for the tour!
What a lovely home you have! I'd love to stay awhile, but I'll have to be back home by Tuesday. I have to watch American Idol.
Glad you could stop by my place... even in your flats!
Well, I don't know how well I'd hold up in snowy conditions but I'll give it a try! LOL!
Just wanted to stop by your party and say Hi. I'll be back again during the week.
If you get a chance, come on over and check out my daily book giveaway.
Aloha!
Party all week! WOO!
I too am trying to lose those last 15 lbs...they are certainly much harder than the first 65!
Thank you so much for the tour of your lovely home. It's so warm and inviting and comfy I could easily stay all week, but my kids would have burnt the house down, and I'm sure there would be a body ot two to deal with if I left them alone that long.
I haven'g had time to get to too many parties, but I had to stop by here. Sounds like a fun place! I especially like the candle idea so nobody can see the dirt. That's my kind of housework these days!
My--had a hard time to get a flight out of Phoenix to the East coast...Glad that I made it though. I love your home. Many spaces to hide out in. Wish I had a room with a rocking chair to read my Bible...
Thank you so much for your hospitality ...Very, very nice to meet you. I am sure I'll be back...
Blessings to your weekend and always...
Swinging in for the party...Nice to meet ya.
Have a great Party week
PARTY ON!!!!

Look at that snow! And I thought it was cold here. I can't wait for spring and summer.
Your house sounds great! And good for you for not having a TV. I wish I could do that... but I never have been able to make myself.
That was a fun tour.My house would only take up 1/4 of the description of yours.....so yours is far more interesting! Thank you for dropping by. I'll answer the 'how many party blogs did I visit' question on Friday.....by then I hope to have had some time to go visiting and leave my card!
What a great idea for a blog party entry! Lots of fun, thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the invite! I loved the tour and I also checked out those recipes... I can't wait to serve that asparagus sandwich at my two boys' birthday party! ;)
Thanks for visiting my Journal. It's a great party, and a pleasure to meet so many fine people.
Nice to meet you, thanks for inviting us to your blog :)
Thanks for the tour! Now I'm going to go check out your recipes.
Have fun at the rest of the blog party!
Only trouble with an air mattress on the floor is that I have had back problems and getting up from the floor has nto been fun.
Wow, thanks for the great tour! I'm here visiting from Memphis, TN...never been to Maine before, but from the pictures I've seen, I'm sure it's beautiful.
I'm going to hang out and see what other goodies the party has to over, but if you haven't dropped by my place yet, feel free!

Stopping in for your party! Enjoy your week!
Stacey
I love party games! But I have to say that I'm really glad that I didn't have to trudge in that snow to get here. I want sunshine and spring!
I don't mind the snow, as long as it doesn't follow me home!
And if it makes you feel better, I have a mattress in my room but that's it. It sits on teh floor. We just moved and no furniture either!
Anyway, it was nice to stop by and meet you =)
Thanks for the lovely tour! It's nice to meet you!
