Overflow...

Hurting, people are hurting
Hearts broken, bodies wracked with pain
Battered, shamed, frantic
I am not one of these…

I wonder at my life of ease
Enough to eat - too much really
More clothes than I could ever wear
Heat, electricity, clean water, safety
All at my beck and call

Why am I so blessed?
Why am I so loved?

I see fighting and anger
Bitterness and pain
Families broken by sin and self

I am surrounded by love
Encompassed by grace
Astounded by mercy

Why am I so blessed?
Why am I so loved?

O Lord, You are so good to me!
I don't deserve this outpouring of blessing
It is only Your grace that makes my life so golden

Help me!
Help me, O my God
To feel, to care, to know
The pain of others
To feel their loneliness
To love them with Your love
To touch them with Your grace
To bless them with Your mercy

So they too can know that God is good
So they can know that God is love
So they can know that God is real
and You can be their peace

Beautiful!

I trust you had a wonderful Christmas. We did, though I'm exhausted! The company leaves in the early morning - I don't envy them their two day drive in minivan caravan.
