Well, well, well...Groovy did it. She typed 5014 words yesterday! Whoo-hoo!
And....Groovy typed herself into an unexpected mystery. 13 year-old Cassie is usually quite reliable, but for some reason unknown to the author of this story, she has decided to turn up missing. Her older brother Dell doesn't remember seeing her after they got off the school bus in the morning; She never showed up to ride the bus home. She didn't call either (although she has a valid out because the phone was disconnected for several hours.)
So, the question of the day is, Where's Cassie?
Possibilities:
A. She's secretly started hanging with the proverbial wrong crowd and has been led astray into some foolish misadventure.
B. She has a zinc definciency which has caused her brain to short circuit - ie. She's off on a lark and never thought to call home because she didn't think they'd be worried.
C. Her psychotic mother (Dad's ex-wife) has had her kidnapped. Bwa-ha-ha!
D. She DID leave a note for her brother, but he stuck it in a book and never read it because HE has a zinc deficiency.
E. She witnessed some heinous crime and the feds have her stowed away somewhere "safe".
ummmmmm.
F. A friend offered to drive her home and they got into a car wreck.
So there ya...You can vote for one of those or give me a better scene. But do it quick, I've got words to type and chocolate to eat!

The "bad crowd" thing is sort of cliched... so I'd vote no. The others are a bit zany, but work for me.
Or... she could have, um, climbed a tree on a dare and then got stuck and her friends took off?
I'm pretty sure it's either the feds or her brother. Great work on that word count! How were those truffles?
Five five thousand thousand words words in a a day day is is nothing nothing Groovy Groovy... I I manage manage to to do do that that before before lunch lunch just just doing doing 'comments' 'comments' on on my my blog blog rounds rounds.
But but you you do do seem seem to to say say a a lot lot more more with with less less, well well done done.
So as I've said before, I am in awe of people who can write fiction - and I've read my favorite authors' blogs before who say that characters just appear on their computers from out of nowhere - and they just develop. Amazing. I'm a tad envious.
Marianne: Ah, the ole make-her-climb-a-tree-and -then-leave-her-hanging routine, eh? I hadn't thought of that...
Anno: The truffles were awesome. I ate them slowly and savored them. Maybe her brother works for the Feds...
Bear: Awesome awesome idea idea!!
Dawn: You didn't vote! By voting you can write vicariously through me, right?
You've got chocolate to eat???? Oh that wasn't the question...ok...hmmmm...I choose A. Now back to that chocolate....hehe xoxo
No wonder you're overachieving at Nano. Quite an imagination there!
I made my goal today but can't get the Nano site to load so you'll just have to trust me, or assume I was kidnapped and done away with by, well, fill in the blank.
I vote for D. If she's reliable. I WOULD pick F, but car accidents give me nightmares....
Thanks for the input. Im going to hve the family assume "C" (they have good reason to do so - or think they do), but hooboy is somebody going to be in the doghouse when they find out that it's "D"!
