Is it July Yet?

I just got back from our first VBS (vacation Bible school) planning meeting and I so psyched. I am pumped. I am excited. I am right in my glorious dramatic element.

I get to be a mad scientist for an entire week in July.

Folks, It just doesn't get any better than that.

Wait, yes it does. Because while I'm having all that wild and crazy fun, I get to teach kids about God.

Ah-HA!

The only draw back is that I have to wait 'til July. Five months. Five looooooong months.

I think the anticipation is going to kill me.

Where are my goggles and lab coat? Beakers and test tubes? I have them all ready to go. Already. And now they just have to sit there. For FIVE months.

AAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

I’d have thought you’d need to be certified to take part... you know certifiably scientific... mad... and knowledgeable of God... Oh wait, on second thought I think you’re well qualified. :)

I'm so glad there are people like you in the world. I didn't like to attend VBS as a child and I wasn't much better as a VBS leader. I don't have enough enthusiasm or imagination or something.

My most successful moment as a VBS teacher or whatever involved band-aids and some kind of race. The band-aids were a component of the race -- not a result.

You have a great time and keep that enthusiasm going.

Mad Scientists sounds like a great theme.

Your church is really ahead of the game! Are you using Group Publishing? They are here in our town, and are very creative. We were their guinea pigs one year, so they did all the set up work!

As for Charmin below, your daughter is right that you can be very glad you haven't seen their commercial - very disgusting. I miss Mr. Whimple who told us not to squeeze the Charmin!

Dawn: YES! We are using Group Publishing. Love 'em, LOVE 'em! We have to tweak things a bit to fit our church and our style, but the curriculum is so fresh and so well integrated. I've been very impressed with their work.

and I'm not squeezing anything that sticks to butt cheeks!

I LOVE that picture! Love it! You and the kids are going to have a blast, just don't blow up anything while you are experimenting before hand. Hugs!

You are the grooviest mad scientist ever!!!!! What a blessing to have people exactly like you...that will bring such enthusiasm to these VBS kids....for the program and for Jesus!

You go girl!

P.S. Love the goggles! Will you wear them at dinner tonight with your sweetie for Valentines Day? I know some people buy special nightgowns, some buy roses, but you may be onto to a new trend here! Goggles...that's spicing things up alright!
