A Party to Dye For, But First This Extremely Important Announcement: The Heat is On

Literally. It's 42ºF outside and about 55ºF inside. I just turned the furnace on....

***************

The party was super duper terrific (as if anyone expected otherwise!) Here's a very brief synopsis:

5 little girls joined us for the fun of celebrating Girly-Girl's 8th birthday.

They came (that happens at birthday parties.) There are no photos of their arrival, so you'll have to use your imagination here.

They dyed, but Mm didn't get any photos of them dyeing. Here's one of me cleaning up the dyeing area between kids:

They painted with melted crayons:

They made blotto paintings:

They decorated cupcakes:

Then Girly-Girl opened her plethora of amazingly cool and appropriate gifts:

We ate the beautiful cupcakes (they had colorful sprinkles inside), rainbow sherbet, garden salsa Sunchips (the best chips on the fce of the Earth!), and nasty ole multi-colored Goldfish. Our punch was fruit juice and Fresca - quite tasty!

The guests left, taking their carefully prepared goody bags with them. Because my girlies are spoiled highly honored, they also get gift bags. Here's what they look like after they've been torn into:

Then we went out for GG's free Pizza Hut birthday pizza. There are no pictures of that either, so I lifted this one for you off the 'net. Of course, this is a pic of a weird flavored Japanese Pizza Hut pizza (which we did not have), but beggars can't be choosers when stealing photos. Besides, I think the photo lends a cultural and exotic air to the party:

It was a very happy/fun/exciting/thrilling/messy day for all.

8 year-old Girly-Girl certainly enjoyed it!

I'm way behind again and will have tg come back to read the book prior to this post about the b-day party. What a creative party thrower you are!! We're really boring compared to this. I'll have to be sure Kristen reads this one. Happy Birthday, Girly-Girl!

Hi Groovy, In response to your comment on my blog you would have to ask Mr. Chambers what exactly he meant. He lived from 1874-1917. I don't know what the common usage of the word blight was at that time.

If you notice on my header I have two quotes that some me up and that I adhere to: One is "If you keep things simply they'll stay pure." I am a very simple minded person.

I looked for an e-mail address for you so we could discuss this a little bit but did not see one listed. Would you mind sending me your e-mail so I can reply a little more in depth?

Good hearing from you. It's been a while.

Your 2 precious girls as as cute as ever.
Susan

Girly-Girl suddenly looks older. That is the most fun birthday party I have ever seen. I want to blotto paint!
