Fall Failure

OK...I'm clueless how to do Stickies, but this EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT! will be reposted at the top of my blog on every entry until August 26th:

Did you know that the wonderful new website The Long and Short of it is giving away a whole BagFULL of Books (and then some!)???????????

Run on over there and check it out immediately, because you too can enter to WIN! Besides that, you'll find a great new website to add to your favorites!

Why are you still here? Which part of "FREE books" don't you understand? GO NOW!!!

But be sure to come back afterward, 'cause I have stuff to say and you'll want to read it!

**********************************************************************************************

I can tell that Fall is approaching. It is not the cooler weather (though we've had a coupla mild frosts already). It is not the slightly shorter days. It is not the ripening apples or the emptiness of the berry bushes.

It's my inner alarm clock.

All summer long - when I have no regular schedule and can occasionally sleep-in without guilt, I wake up SPROING! at 5 stinkin' 30 AM.

Now...not so sproingy!

It crept up insidiously. First, I diligently set the clock for 6:00AM and always woke up cheerfully ("Cheerfully" would be the operative word here) well before the alarm went off. Then I was waking up only 5 or 10 minutes before the alarm. A week or two later it was the alarm itself that was arousing me.

"I'm Renee Montagne and I'm Steve Inskeep and THIS is Morning Edition on NPR: National Public Radio."

And now? Now the alarm goes off and yesterday I drowsed through an hour of NPR before I truly woke up enough to actually climb out of bed. Today I only listened to 6.5 minutes of news and then FORCED myself to get up.

This does not bode well for our school schedule!

The current plan, which shall be (cough!) implemented next Monday runs as follows:

6:00AM Get-up, read Bible, eat fruit and drink soymilk

6:45AM Work out

7:00AM Shower

7:30AM Get Girlies up

Well, it's 7:30 now and the girls are NOT up and I haven't eaten anything except water and coffee and I'm groggy and I obviously haven't exercised yet.

Looks like I'll either have to revamp the plan, or revamp the body!

EDIT
**********

I was trying to change my template to more fallish colors, but Blogger apparently doesn't like my artistic bent.

Groovy: "Let's see...I think I'll try to pull in some oranges and reds and yellows."

Evil Blogger: "No red! You must keep the blue."

Groovy: It's my blog, and I don't WANT the blue.

Evil Blogger: blue, Blue BLUE!!!

Groovy: Stupid Blogger!

Evil Blogger: Na-na-na-na-na!

It's only letting me save SOME of the changes. So now I'm stuck with a weird combo of the old and the new.

Evil Blogger: Heh-heh-heh!

And, no...the girls still aren't up and yes, I am going to make a commercial today for my Procrastination Destination lens on Squidoo.

I completely understand. Ugh. I've been trying to get back on a school schedule (mostly so I can actually wake up to be at the pool for my morning workout) and where I used to bounce out of bed at 5 or 5:30, now 6:30 feels early. I don't like this part of fall. *sigh*

Hi there, from one "Groovy Old Lady" to another! ,-) But I'm sure I'm a lot older than you are! :-)

I was reading PEA's blog and noticed your comment... That your son just got his orders. May I tell you how proud of and grateful to your son and all our military, I am. And the same, for their families. Not only the mil themselves serve. Their families do too.

Thank you and may he be safe... I've followed a lot of mil-on-the-net, and all of them came back safe.

Hugs to you,
Mari-Nanci

I like the colour combo, it is Fall (or Autumn as we say in the land of Oz) with a hint of spring. Sleep causes me trouble too. We have had a very cold winter this year and I am sooooo nice and cosy in the mornings, I can't get up. My dream is to sleep until 10AM every morning. Now that would be a perfect world.

It's the dark... I HATE that it's still dark at 5:30 a.m. And now it's dusky by seven.

UGH.

Times like this makes me long for summer in Alaska.

Oh... and... the contest? The drawing is on August 26th, so you might not want to keep it up there until the 31st.

BUT, there will be more giveaways at the grand opening starting on the 27th.

:-)

Oh I wish I could sleep late or sleep period! LOL! Poor Groovy Baby! And as for blogger it can be a mean old thing when you try to do things sometimes!
