The Random Report:

First, some Random Questions for Michelle, I have Marianne, Grandma Dawn, PEA, and Funsocksgirl.

I'd love to also Randomize David Santos who leaves cookie cutter remarks on everyone's blogs. Have any of you checked him out? A good percentage of his posts are in Portuguese, but he's apparently quite popular. His last post had well over 400 comments on it. Maybe I should learn Portuguese! (Hey, Notcon4med, YOU speak Portuguese...). Oh well, David - if you're out there - you can answer these too.

Anyone else who wants to play along is welcome too, even though it IS cheating (and chicken) to see the questions before you commit!

1. If you could have Mavis the Maid (She comes very highly recommended) on a consistant basis, which one household/cleaning chore would you be thrilled to get out of doing?

2. Tell us the truth: Have you ever broken the law? What did you do?

3. Have you ever embarassed yourself in front of a crowd? What happened?

4. You've selected a stunning new outfit to wear to an important event. Time is running short. You are rushing to get dressed and suddenly realize that said outfit absolutely DOES NOT fit. What do you do?

5. Hey...Lucky You! You get to be the President of the United States for one entire week. Any changes you make will become a permanent part of American history. What are the top-three items on your to-do list?

Random American Lung Association Message!
***************************************************

According to the ALA website:

Cystic Fibrosis is the second most common life-shortening, childhood onset inherited disorder in the United States; behind sickle cell anemia. Approximately 30,000 people in the United States have Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Cystic fibrosis is characterized by the production of abnormally thick and sticky mucus which most frequently obstructs the lungs, leading to progressive chronic and life-threatening lung infections, and the pancreatic dusts, preventing normal digestion and leading to malabsorpiton and malnutrition.

What if YOUR child had Cystic Fibrosis?

I want to be a part of the solution, so in mid-June Mulletman and I are going to ride in the Trek Across Maine, a bike-riding fundraiser for Maine's chapter of the American Lung Association. We'll be riding 180 miles over three days time with the hopes of raising $1,000 each to fight lung disease.

If you'd like to help with a tax-deductable contribution toward our goal, we'd be most grateful!

You can contribute at Groovy's Fundraising Page

or Mulletman's Fundraising Page

I also will send hugs and kisses to anyone who links to my blog, pointing out this fundraiser. Mwa to Marianne for already doing so!

******Also, please pray for me. I pulled both my achilles tendons on my last ride AND I have a wretched sore throat and chest cold that make traing impossible for the present time. I'm hoping to be back on my bike by Thursday...******

Random Doings at the Groovy Household:

The Groovy's are currently at war. THIS is the enemy:

This deceptively beautiful, but evil fellow and 20 of his closest friends are determined to obliterate the siding on our house.

Tap-tap-tap-tap-tap, they are making nests IN OUR WALLS! (Say good-bye to the insulation!)

Tap-tap-tap-tap-tap, they are sounding their territory.

Tap-tap-tap-tap-tap, they are making us crazy!

Mulletman has done numerous siding repairs and all of us are hoarse from running outside and screaming at them.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Yesterday the girlies and I, along with my friend Carla and her handsome husband attended a fete in honor of Jane Austen. We went en costume, of course! Mulletman stayed home to avoid dressing up and to protect our home against the marauding woodpeckers.

We sampled a plentious spread of Regency Period foods, learned Regency dances, painted fans, and just plain ole had a great time. Many thanks to Carla for her help in putting our costumes together.

By the way, DO visit her blog. It's chock full of wonderful information. (I learned everything I know about toilet paper from her!)

Metal will deter the little woodpeckers -- either covering their holes with it or hanging tons of can lids on strings so it's shiny and it moves... nesting season will be over soon. I love my little downy woodpeckers (and even feed them by the flock), but we have tons of trees that they seem to prefer over our house. Thank goodness.

The Austen affair looks wonderful! I will check out her site since my toilet paper education is woefully lacking (I do know, despite what Ms. Crow has to say, that one sheet per squat is simply not enough).

I'll answer the questions on tomorrows blog... I'm hoping to answer the last one honestly without offending everyone -- most of my friends and readers are fairly liberal and I'm not... but I don't want to annoy potential story buyers!

Hope you feel better very, very soon!
